Paul Whitehouse: Our Troubled Rivers
Paul Whitehouse: Our Troubled Rivers
Unmissable TV on BBC Two. A subject close to my heart, as a Citizen Scientist I test the River Wye regularly for pollution. The comedian and passionate fisherman, Paul Whitehouse travels around England and Wales exploring rivers and waterways in decline and considers what might to be done to protect them. This is essential viewing
This makes for depressing watching and at times repetitive, excess raw sewage being illegally pumped into our rivers and sea, run off from agriculture and intensive farming practices polluting waterways across the country….
There is little to be optimistic about. We need to act now to protect the UK’s 200,000 kilometres of waterways, they are the arteries of our land and crucial for the nation’s health, wealth and resilience
