Green Man Festival 2012

Back again at the Green Man Festival, where I have had a stall since the beginning.Best Venue: Chai Wallahs of course, for its ambience and good music, great sound system, and chai with a shot at the end of a hard days work

Best Music: King Creosote on the main stage, watching with friends Susannah and Guy Lester and son Calabrine

Best Food: The Moroccans, they can “break up and be gone from their pitch within 4 hours” and on to the next festival….. now that’s impressive.  They work all Summer and then holiday all winter!

Best Helpers: Lesley and Sally

Best Friends: The Dodgy Gang, loyal supporters who have been coming to my Stand for years

Best Hat: Mine! 101 uses for a saucepan

Best Muddy Spot: The Loos

Best Tent: Our lovely bell tent from friends, Gavin and Vina Hogg of Penpont was like an oasis in a sea of mud

Best Shop: Rough Trade Records for their eclectic and knowledgeable taste in music, but also in wildlife books etc.  I saw them at the Port Elliot Festival, down by the river, with a group of fisher people, wilderness and wildlife enthusiasts and custodians of essential values.  I met Ian McFarland there who gave a reading of his writings set to music and sounds, about a boat trip he took to St Kilda’s.  And of course our own stand, The Great English Unwashed, selling fabulous second hand garb
