Upcycled Vintage Blankets
There was a good article in October issue of Country Living Magazine under the heading Simple Makes, entitled Create your own Vintage Treasures. Sarah Moore gave a step by step guide to creating children’s ponchos, blanket cushion covers and fabric corsages, all from an old Welsh woollen blanket
Using pieces of material, approximately the size of a ten pence piece, you can easily make these colourful corsages. With pinking shears, cut out lots of different sized circles from your scraps of fabric, creating a good mixture of colours and textures. Layer up the discs to form your corsage with the largest disc on the bottom, put a button on the top and secure it in place by stitching right through all the layers, using a double cotton thread. Sew the brooch fastener on to the back of your corsage. This corsage will give any old tweed jacket a new lease of life
