101 Uses for A Welsh Blanket Continued…..
We ran a competition over Hay Festival asking our customers for their ideas or most innovative uses for a Welsh blanket. The winning entry received an old plaid Welsh blanket
We had some great responses including the winning suggestion for a bookbag with leather holding strap and a seat/chair cushion made from a Welsh blanket. The leather staps could also be used to carry books and the blanket folds to make a bag and unfolds to allow you to sit on it with your cushion for extra support – the perfect solution for a book Festival! Other good ideas included using the blanket as a hammock tied between two trees in a shady garden, the ideal place to spend an afternoon reading your favourite book; or lining a canoe with Welsh blankets and setting off down the Wye for a lazy afternoon on the river; making a kite – not quite sure of the aerodynamics of this one but it offers a stunning visual image of Welsh blankets cutting through blue cloudless skies in the hills! And a final favourite – a stuffed toy dog fashioned from Welsh blanket, in the form of a lurcher of course!
